  1. 1. Is me donating money to support the candidate of my choice free speech?
    2. Is my friend and I pooling our money to support the candidate of our choice free speech?
    3. Is my friend and I forming an organization to pool our money to support a candidate free speech?

Which of these qualify as free speech and what differentiates it from the others? I completely understand, even agree, that money in politics is a problem, but I don’t really know what other decision you could have made outside of simply stating free speech doesn’t include the right to financially support a candidate FULL STOP. But then that opens a whole other can of worms of what constitutes “supporting a candidate.”
