In your own post it says that future dates like that are provisional placeholders until a confirmed date is given.
It sounds to me that this is a very common practice in this data set, likely because entering a date is a required field, yet they do not know the date, so they pick one way out in the future until they have a confirmed date, at which point they update it.

This whole story is just symbolism wrapped in propaganda. I’m not sure what it means yet, but it is not a flying space rock.
Also, if you think people are capable of knowing the composition of a mysterious flying space rock, you might as well go visit Santa at the mall next month.

The object is 10,000-100,000 times fainter than the instruments were designed to observe.
What is hoped is that combining Exo Mars and Mars Explorer images will yield significant data. That doesn’t happen quickly because it’s more of an experiment than anything else.
