Since its founding, the Watchtower organization has been based on sexual assault. Charles Taze Russell sexually abused his servant, Emily Matthews, as well as his ward, Rose Ball. When his wife, Maria Russell, brought these things to light, she was “disfellowshipped” by Russell. Thus began a pattern the Watchtower organization continues today – sexual abuse of minors followed by a crushing of those who attempt to bring the matter to light. Today the Watchtower leaders continue to pay off the judiciary for the sexual crimes of its JW leaders. Watchtower is a tax-exempt organization in the US and uses its publications to solicit funds. Exposing Watchtower’s hypocrisy is important in order to give people the opportunity to withdraw their support of it.
