This comes in response to Stellantis and GM shutting down some production in Canada. It may be a precursor to reducing BYD tariffs from China as there are currently negotiations going on with regards to canola exports and BYD imports.
It’s important to realize that Canada imports more autos from the states than it exports to the states.
