Wow, that’s actually good news. I am surprised the Republicans actually compromised on this.
Cons are afraid of redistricting backfiring on them in the event of a wipeout in 2026, which is looking more and more likely by the day with Trump’s current numbers and the state of the economy.
“**Meanwhile, Republicans** accepted a worse map than they may have had otherwise in exchange for avoiding the uncertainty of a referendum.”
“**This new map** proposal is certainly worse for Democrats. But it’s not as bad as it could be. In a very strong Democratic year, Kaptur, Landsman and Sykes could win reelection.”
For the three competitive seats:
OH-1: Landsman will be favored in 2026 and toss-up in 2028
OH-9: Kaptur is a toss up in 2026 and probably an underdog in 2028 if she doesn’t retire by then.
OH-11: Emilia Sykes is favored in 2026 and 2028.
