  1. This isn’t surprising. It’s impossible to be a politician in Ukraine and *not* be at least somewhat corrupt – the oligarchs did not disappear in 2014, they just split into a pro-Russian and a nationalist faction. Zelenskyy is hardly exceptional here, the question is if he’s corrupt to enrich himself or engages in corruption as a way to achieve his political aims.

  2. Well the buck stops at the president. Even if he wasn’t aware of their dealings the fact that like every close associate of his has been found guilty (or associated with) corruption is a pretty damning indictment of his faith being placed in the wrong hands. Like with Ulysses S Grant

  3. i only have read headlines about this, but if Zelensky wasn’t the one doing corruption, sanctioned the guy and charges have been filed against this guy. then how is Zelensky responsible?

  4. >According to the latest poll by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), 59 percent of Ukrainians think their President Volodymyr Zelensky “bears personal responsibility” for corruption activities of his close associate and a former business partner

I think this is the beginning of the end for Zelensky, though not for Ukraine.
