    This popped up in my FB newsfeed. An interesting theory. There were a lot of assets deployed to the rescue. They might have used the shootdown as a convenient cover for a sabotage operation. But, I am not 100% sold on this.

    Keep in mind C130s carry more than just personnel hell you could carry a tank in a C130 not saying that’s what they were carrying just giving perspective. I’m all about some conspiracy theories however I assure you that was a real pilot and WSO shot down.

    The C130s were used because of the range needed, they carried little birds and all the troops to secure the airfield and provide aerial cover for the rescue operation since it was relatively far into Iran.

    There’s plenty of sources that have gone over this.
