Submission Statement: we’re having a world cup and aren’t even letting people from non-travel banned countries in.

People are going to make a lot of very lazy comparisons to the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. But I want to get a head of this and mention the nazis drastically toned down their racism and anti-semitism when hosting the Olympics. Because they knew being overtly racist was bad for their image. Maga doesn’t give a fuck.

    >After the start of the US-Israel war with Iran, the US suspended routine consular services in Iraq due to concerns about security in the region. This means there is nowhere in the country where Adnan and other Iraqi fans can get visas, as they have to attend an in-person interview.

    >So Adnan travelled to neighbouring Jordan to try to get a visa at the US embassy there. But when he arrived for his appointment, staff told him that because he wasn’t a Jordanian citizen, that embassy could not give him a visa.

You can only visit Major Major Major Major when he is not in the office.

  4. This World Cup is almost insulting as someone living in a host city for so many reasons.

Tickets are expensive, matchups and game times are not great, and we’ve been dealing with months of inconvenience while our local governments break their backs trying to do a bunch of road work to make things nice for FIFA.

I and everyone I’ve talked to has been ready for this to be over for a long time and it hasn’t even started. It’s just icing on the cake that the people who actually care about this can’t even get into the country to watch the games.
