      Wanted to write this on yesterday’s DT but it was late, so anyhow:

      Something that irks me about how people talk about the Sudanese Civil War is how they flatten the conflict to the point of completely misrepresenting it to use it as an excuse to not care “Oh, it’s a two-sided conflict” of “African people killing each other is just the normal state of things” like, shit, that implies reciprocity that isn’t there. The civilians being massacred by the RSF are not massacring the RSF back, it treats the mass murder of unarmed civilians as being *morally grey*. And it is something people only do for this conflict, imagine if I defined I-P as “Just middle easterns killing each other or Ukraine-Russia as “Just Slavs killing each other ” I would be absolutely be called out, and rightfully so.
