Evidence of Distraction Tactics

  1. Pivoting to other politicians
When pressed about Epstein-related questions, Trump often shifts the focus to previous administrations — e.g. accusing Barack Obama or others of wrongdoing, thereby changing the narrative.

    1. Dismissing the issue as “hoax” or “boring”
He has called the Epstein inquiries a “hoax,” or said it’s “boring” and not worth attention — language aimed at undermining the legitimacy of the scrutiny.
    2. Releasing alternative documents / distractions
There’s been movement on other file releases (e.g. Martin Luther King Jr. documents) or pronouncements to release Epstein files — but those moves often satisfy few and don’t resolve the core demands for transparency.
    3. Public pressure from supporters
Even among his base and Republican ranks, there are growing demands for full transparency. That means simple distractions may not be enough.
