Everyone should look into the Genesis Mission from the department of energy. They have a short video on their YouTube about it. That’s the government AGI using quantum computing. Not some LLM but the real deal. Crazy shit.
AGI like that will change our world. Maybe for good, maybe for bad. We are living in a crazy time. The possibilities of what could come of this are beyond most of ours imagination. It’s going to be crazy.

Real threat of what is just hype. The real threat are the many military and governments who have and are Invested in AI with US already making AI execs military captains/general/or whatever it was and Pentagon allocating office and budget explicitly for AI.
Israel has already use Where’s Daddy, Lavender, and Gospel AI produced by Palentir that mostly failed, but still caused the atonomous murder of thousands. Many nights with hundreds of dead.
The danger when US government opens any program is that those programs hire people who end up doing all they can to keep their positions regardless the strategic value of the program. Entire careers are built on bad military programs that hurt and commit crimes, but since it’s the US military, all crimes they commit are unaccountable and committed with impunity.
Now that it’s already set up, AI is not going anywhere. Now that they have Pentagon positions and contracts, they’re not going anywhere.
It is not only US whose military and government have already weaponized AI even before it really exists. They’ve turned the hype into a weaponized threat.
It is already too late.
All signs point to AI will likely never reach AGI and will harm society more than help.
But that doesn’t matter anymore.

I always assumed their bunkers would be built to hold a small population of people (total of about 100,000) to build the new world after they “off” the rest of us. Those people who were carefully chosen would be valuable to them and even traded like a new commodity..
