Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi comments a month ago that triggered a diplomatic spat with China over Taiwan appeared to be spontaneous. A script the government prepared for Takaichi in advance of her testimony showed that the planned response for any queries related to Taiwan was for her to decline to comment on hypothetical situations such as a Taiwan crisis, according to documents obtained by opposition lawmaker Kiyomi Tsujimoto.

What a right mess this all bubbled into. Though the bulk of the issue still lies in the comments made by the Chinese ambassador to Japan which were far more inflammatory than anything Takaichi said.

Did you know that they have degrees in international relations?

Must feel maddening looking at world leaders acting this way

“We will utterly ignore what China said and done for the past 5 years, but criticize Japan back to back to back to back.”
