      My man is an AI engineer. He built this thing. He’s undoubtedly thought a lot about stuff like AI psychosis. He understands that this is just a token generator better than anyone. His responses are intentionally cold and evasive.

      And yet, you can hear it fucking with his brain.

      If I was in this man’s shoes I’d be like “I need to get the fuck out of here. This ends yesterday.” But he can’t do that because this is his job now. He can’t back out, he’s built his life around whatever this is. Chat is just like “aww he loves his daughter” when it’s like… Nah, if you’re going to keep going down this path you need like some kind of plan to manage this. This is like a genuine social horror I’m witnessing take place in real time.

      It makes me sick to my stomach that FFXIV: Shadowbringers is 6 years old.

      One of my favorite stories in any game. Successfully introducing an entire new setting to an ongoing story, tying it in, and then performing two ridiculous pay-offs with Emet-Selch and Elidibus.

      Plus the fucking banger theme.
