The guy didn’t even realise his article justifies statutory rape laws.
If rape is almost impossible to prove but the existence of sexual contact is easier to prove and if adolescents are unlikely to give testimony for statutory rape then the existence of such law at least assures that if you rape a teenage girl (which is what this guy probably did) you are at least more likely to get some punishment even if it’s not proven to be rape.

I think it’s absurdity argument. There’s another argument about NASCAR not having cigarette makers and alcohol brands advertising on their cars because it promotes smoking and alcohol consumption. Same argument entails normalizing drag time story hour.
