Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, criticized President Lee Jae-myung on the 21st, calling him aligned with a “pro-North Korea Korea–China alliance.” This is interpreted as a response to President Lee dismissing the controversy the previous day over Unification Minister Jeong Dong-young’s remarks about North Korean nuclear facilities.
In a Facebook post that day titled “Lee Jae-myung’s ‘Decision to Break with the United States,’” Jang made these remarks.
Jang set up a hypothetical conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and President Lee, writing, “Trump asks: ‘Korea–U.S. alliance? Or Korea–China alliance?’ Lee Jae-myung answers: ‘A pro-North Korea Korea–China alliance!’”
Along with the post, Jang shared an image of Trump containing the English slang “FAFO” (Fuck Around and Find Out). The image was originally posted on social media by Trump when Nicolás Maduro, the President of Venezuela, was captured.
