Why was there a camera above the TV on my Turkish Airlines international flight, why do you need to watch me during a 12 hour flight?

This is above the TV right in front of you, not above everyone. Just me. Watching me. Very closely. Was someone watching in real time in case people did something? Were they recording to watch later?

I also flew American from US to Mexico last year and you had to scan your face before getting on the plane. Like right as you enter the sleeve, not at security. No permission asked, no opting out really. If you want to get on a plane – scan your face instead of scanning your boarding pass.

I asked to opt out – they said “you can” by going to the different part of the terminal and asking for a certain paperwork. This was right as the boarding started. Miss your plane or scan your face. These were the options.

It’s the same with Ubers now, they have an iPad on the back of the passenger seat and all I can think about is the point is surveillance.

If you look closely, the lapel on her hat also has a camera, watching only you.

Is there a dumber question when a camera is pointed at me… what’s it doing?

mby display comes with built in camera from the factory but still was the cheapest option for those who made the infotainment system. I recently went to one of the biggest trade shows and was looking for options for touch screens to be implemented in exhibition stands, museums and stuff like that. I was surprised that many chinese manufacturers don’t provide just simple touchscreens, but with built in cameras and ordering them without cameras would be more expensive. for rather small orders that is.

  6. Just fold a piece of paper and stick it in the slit above, so it covers the camera. Or put a sticker on it, if you have one.

It was intended by the IFE manufacturer to allow airlines to offer immigration pre-screening before arrival at an airport.

Never actually came to fruition, but that’s why some of those older Panasonic IFE systems have cameras at every seat.
