Submission statement: Trump has narrowed the U.S.’s refugee program to the point where the only people allowed in are a few thousand mostly white South Africans. This is a perversion of the refugee program to serve Trump’s white nationalist agenda. It relates to this sub’s interest in immigration policy.
(For the record, there’s nothing wrong with white South Africans moving to the U.S. (though a lot of the ones profiled in the article don’t seem to need the kind of help the government normally extends to refugees) but it shouldn’t be to the exclusion of other immigrants, and certainly not over refugees who have more credible claims of being unsafe. Open borders shouldn’t just be for white people)
